Ceramics parade

Declared a Festival of Interest for Tourism by the Autonomous Community of Valencia.

Of all the festivities held in Manises, the Ceramics Parade stands out for its originality and uniqueness.

In the afternoon on 18 July, the Clavaría of Saints Justa and Rufina, patron saints of ceramists and the city, offer a show that is unique in the world. Mounted on floats, in a setting similar to the battle of the flowers, a deeply-rooted tradition in Valencia, they parade through the city handing out pieces of local handcrafted ceramics to all those present.

Jugs, mortars, bowls, trays, pots and many other pieces, made by businesses and craftworkers in the city, are gifted as a souvenir to all those attending the ceremony, the aim of which is to showcase the traditions most closely linked to our culture and history.

Particularly striking among the ceramic pieces handed out by the manufacturers, Manises City Council and the members of the Clavaría are the miniature pieces called "Escuraeta", miniature replicas of commonly used kitchenware.

There is no doubt that this is a unique festival not to be missed.
