Dangerous flora and fauna

Manises offers great diversity as regards both its flora and fauna.

The vast majority of the species pose no risk for people, but it must be remembered that certain plants like oleander (Nerium oleander) and nettles (Urtica) can cause rashes or allergies when you come into contact with them.

In addition, you will find jimsonweed (Datura stramonium), spurge (Datura inoxia), black nightshade (Solanum nigrum) and flax-leaved daphne (Daphne gnidium) which can cause poisoning if swallowed.

As regards the fauna, there are no dangerous animals that could cause serious injury. However, you should always be wary around bees (Anthophilia) and wasps (Vespidae), particularly if you are allergic to their sting.
